Sandra Camille Coco, lovingly known as "Ruthie," illuminated this world with her presence, and her memory will forever shine in our hearts. She was born on October 30, 1945, in Twin Oaks, Pennsylvania, to her birth parents, Samuel Laury, Sr. (Bernice Laury' Waters) and Philomena Zawadzki. Later in her life, she found her second family with her adopted parents, the late Dr. George H. Jones DDS and the late Ruth Thompson, whose love and guidance shaped her journey. Before her journey to Howard University, during her formative years at Westfield High, Sandra's close-knit circle of friends, affectionately known as "The Gang of 8," consisted of William Bill' Peterson, Joyce, Diana, Andrea, Mary Louise, Gilbert, and Mary Fitch. Together, they experienced life's ups and downs, sharing in the joys and sorrows that helped shape the bonds of their enduring lifelong friendship. Sandra's professional journey was defined by her dedication and compassion. She began as a preschool teacher in Union County, nurturing young minds with her caring spirit. Later, Sandra dedicated herself as Director of Netal Group Home in Old Bridge New Jersey, and lastly devoted herself to serving as an Occupational Therapist at Woodbridge Developmental Center, caring for the mentally & physically disabled and positively impacting the lives of countless individuals. In 2006, she retired, leaving a lasting legacy of service. Sandra's faith was a guiding light in her life, as she was a long-time member of the Metro New York District Nazarene, finding her spiritual home at the New Beginnings Church of Nazarene in Edison, New Jersey. She was an active servant in the church, where she worked closely with the Church food pantry, exemplifying her dedication to helping those in need Despite her valiant battle against cancer and an array of underlying health conditions, Sandra remained a beacon of infectious laughter and an unwavering ability to brighten any room with her presence. Her outgoing demeanor and her love for a good drink were hallmarks of her unique character. Sandra discovered immense joy in the pages of murder mysteries, found solace in the world of British shows, and welcomed an eclectic joy in the pages of murder mysteries, found solace in the world of British shows range of music into her heart, adding to the tapestry of her rich and vibrant life.Sandra's life was marked by both heartache and the embrace of family. She was preceded in death by her late sister, Carolyn Thomas, and her late brothers Billy, Jerry, and Leonard Laury. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Johnson and Colista Irene Fain, and her brother Samuel Laury, Jr. Her enduring legacy lives on through her children, Francine Coco and Christopher De Bose, her beloved grandchildren, Brittney Newberry, Cassandra Wynn, Cymone Wynn, Janahya De Bose, Christopher De Bose, Jr., Tyler De Bose, and her great-grandchild, Drew Britt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who were fortunate to know her. Sandra's greatest legacy was the love and guidance she provided to her grandchildren, teaching them the values of education, faith, and fairness. Her influence is evident even in her grandchildren, with Janahya placing the needs of others above her own, Christopher, Jr., caring for her as she cared for him, Tyler bringing joy to her life daily, Britney being a nurturing mother to her first great-grandchild, Cassandra following in her educational footsteps, and Cymone's role as an elderly care coordinator. Sandra's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and unending compassion. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing her, reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived.
