Robert Prota

September 3, 1953 — January 22, 2024

In loving memory of Robert Prota, a devoted husband, hardworking individual, and beloved soul. Born on September 3, 1953, at Staten Island Hospital, Staten Island, NY, to Sabato Prota and Josephine Prota (both predeceased), Robert's journey began with love and family at its core. He graduated from McKee Technical High School in Staten Island, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and integrity. Robert's career path led him through various roles, each demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. From his days as a forklift operator at Mattel Toys in Newark, NJ, where he met his cherished wife, Sandra, to his tenure at LAMCO Plumbing LLC and later Mark Lighting LLC, Robert left an indelible mark with his skill and diligence. His contributions were not only recognized but celebrated, as evidenced by his feature in the company magazine for his outstanding work at Mark Lighting LLC. But beyond his professional achievements, Robert's heart belonged to his beloved wife Sandra Prota. (predeceased) Their union, sealed on January 24, 1981, blossomed over 43 years, filled with love, companionship, and shared adventures. From romantic getaways to Hawaii to cherished moments in Atlantic City, Robert and Sandra exemplified the beauty of enduring love and partnership. Robert's passions extended beyond the workplace and into the realm of sports and music. A devoted fan of the New York Giants, he found joy in cheering for his team. His love for R&B music, particularly favorites like "Always and Forever" and the soulful tunes of the Commodores, added rhythm and melody to his life. As a devout Catholic, Robert cherished the sanctity of marriage and the bond shared with Sandra. His faith guided him through life's journey, instilling in him values of love, compassion, and resilience. On January 22, 2024, Robert Prota departed this world, coincidentally on the same date he and Sandra embarked on their marital journey 43 years prior. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, forever etched in the hearts of his family and friends. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love siblings Ferdinard, Joseph, (both predeceased), and Christina Prota (Cortopassi), his son Lamar, daughter-in-love Nicole, and grandchildren Tiffany, Aniyah, Darien, and Maximus Gilmore. He is also remembered by his blended family in love, including children Bridget Greenleaf, Michael Greenleaf, and Towanna Johnson, along with grandchildren Steven, Tania, Kevin, Michael, Mariah and Tyshone Greenleaf, Amaya Huntley, Stephone Monk, and Trinity Johnson and great-grandchildren Kayla, Corey, Kyle and Janiyah Greenleaf, Jada and Iyannah Monk. In the essence of Robert Prota's life lies a profound love for his wife, an unwavering dedication to his work, and cherished memories with family and friends that will forever remain in our hearts. May his spirit continue to inspire and his legacy endure through the lives he touched.
