Born in Jersey City on January 10, 1954, Jose was a loving soul who touched the lives of many through his compassionate nature and zest for life. Jose received his education in the Newark Public Schools District, where he cultivated a deep love for learning and personal growth. With an unwavering dedication to serving others, he pursued a career as a real estate agent, helping individuals find their dream homes and build a brighter future for their families. However, beyond his professional achievements, Jose was cherished for the person he was. Friendly and always wearing a warm smile, he had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. A true people person, Jose effortlessly made everyone around him feel valued and loved. Faith played a central role in Jose's life. He was a devout man who found solace in preaching the word of God. His faith not only provided him with strength but also guided his interactions with others. It was through his unwavering belief that he demonstrated kindness, compassion, and empathy. In his leisure time, Jose indulged in his passions with great enthusiasm. He had an undying love for music that lifted his spirits and brought joy to those around him. Whether it was singing along to his favorite tunes or strumming chords on his guitar, music allowed Jose to express himself and share moments of pure bliss. Jose also had an unquenchable fascination with cars. Their design, power, and elegance captivated him endlessly. His eyes would light up at the sight of a vintage vehicle or the rumble of an engine echoing through the streets. This shared interest became a source of connection with friends and family as they exchanged stories about their automotive adventures. A devoted sports fan at heart, Jose would engage in passionate discussions about his beloved teams – the Knicks and the Jets. Sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with those around him, he created a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and friendly competition. These spirited conversations added color to countless gatherings, making lasting memories for all involved. Jose will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His infectious laughter, thoughtful advice, and genuine care for others will forever remain in our hearts. He was a pillar of strength within his family, providing unwavering support and showering them with unconditional love. In his transition from this life to the next, Jose joins his beloved parents Luz Santana and Jose Colon. In their heavenly embrace, peace finds its home. He is also preceded in death by his dear sister Myra Colon. While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable man, we find solace in knowing that Jose's legacy lives on through his precious children - Alexis Colon, Jennifer Elizabeth Colon, and Jeremiah Colon. Their lives are a testament to their father's unwavering dedication and love. Jose is survived by his siblings: Jose Francisco, Jose Ramon Aponte, Lucille Aponte, Samuel Aponte, Diane Burgos, and Harvey Colon. Their bond as family was unbreakable, weaving together beautiful stories that will be shared for generations to come. Jose also leaves his grandchildren : Christian & Anthony Frangi Pane, and Jayla Jones.  A celebration of life rememberance service will be held on February 10, 2024 at Gabriel D Glover Funeral Home located at 146 E 2nd Ave in Roselle, NJ. The event will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM. As we bid farewell to Jose Luis Colon, let us cherish the memories he bestowed upon us. May his compassionate spirit continue to guide us towards love, kindness, and unity. Rest in heavenly peace, dear Jose. Your light will forever shine bright in our hearts.
