Joel Gregory Newcombe was born to the late Gregory Joel Newcombe Sr. and the late Rae Gail Newcombe on January 8, 1981 in Edison, NJ.
God decided to call him home on January 24, 2024.
Joel was a caring and loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. The Bible tells us that we fall short, but Joel did all that he knew how to do and he was a provider, sibling, father and husband. Only god knows the heart. Joel graduated from Carteret High School and received his associates degree in Culinary Arts from Mercer County College. God blessed him to become and outstanding chef working at many country clubs/private clubs including becoming an Executive Chef. His passion for cooking, a gift he got from his mom was an influence for his cousin and his daughter to follow in his footsteps. Joel was a gentle giant, with so much light and laugher to fill a room. Anyone who met him instantly fell in love with him. He enjoyed sports, music, writing and traveling. He has two beautiful daughters Nicole (15), Candice (13) who were his whole world. He loved taking them places (especially Six Flags with his nephew Khalil) and having new adventures. Joel met his wife Sherri (née Betesh) in 2013, they were married on April 5, 2019. He was a loving and dedicated husband who took care of his wife during her battle with cancer.
Joel’s parents are no longer with us but their memory lives on through his siblings.
