Obituary
Gordon Stanley Al Robinson, affectionately known as Stan, was born on August 4, 1943, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Fanny Page and James H. Robinson. He departed this earthly life and entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville, New Jersey. Stan was the only child of his parents but had three brothers from his father’s first marriage. He received his early education in Lynchburg, VA, and graduated from Dubar High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force, serving for five years, following in the footsteps of his brothers, Sunnyboy and James Robinson. Stan was based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and developed a deep love for the Air Force. In his professional life, Stan worked with special needs children in Virginia. He was employed at the Ollie Group Home for Boys in Queens, NY, and served as a program coordinator at ARC in Roselle for ten years. Stan later worked as a social worker at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility until his retirement. Stan accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at 5th Street Baptist Church. In addition to his faith, he was a male cheerleader and enjoyed playing basketball. He also had a passion for cooking and loved hosting family and friends, sharing his delicious meals with those he cared about. Stan’s journey of love and companionship began when he was contacted as a customer by Peggy Robinson while she was working for a cable company. Stan, impressed by her voice, called her every day until they eventually met in person. The rest, as they say, was history. They shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Stan is preceded in death by his parents and three half-brothers: James Robinson Jr., Sonnyboy, and Sharper Robinson. His precious memories will be cherished by his devoted wife of 41 years, Peggy Robinson; his daughter, L. Robinson; his two favorite cousins, Gloria Simoa Robinson and Rev. Michael Page; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Stan will be deeply missed by his wife, Peggy Robinson, and their only child, L. Robinson
