After obtaining his degree Bob held management positions for both Osco Jewel stores and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The allure of a sales position at Washington National insurance company in Evanston, Illinois brought him to Miami, Florida shortly before sending him to East Orange, New Jersey.
A natural salesman, Bob attributed his success to his gift as a speaker. Bob’s success as a salesman was recognized nationally year after year at the company’s annual convention. In 1976, shortly after relocating to New Jersey he met the love of his life, Maevan Wallace and the two were wed six months later. Their union produced three children, Rashaan (’77), Jameel (’81) and Tara (’86) and in 1982, the family settled in Roselle, New Jersey.
While in Roselle, Bob was a leader in his community coaching youth basketball, baseball and was also the president of the Roselle Pop Warner.
