Clarice Laverne Norman was born on September 4, 1935 in Chester, South Carolina, daughter of the late Henry Simpson and Annie Mae Simpson. Raised in South Carolina, Clarice attended Emmett Scott High School of Rock Hill, SC. Clarice then graduated and went on to attend private historically black college, Friendship College in Rock Hill, SC.
Clarice moved to Roselle, NJ where she met and married Isaac Norman Sr. in 1960. The union was blessed with four sons, Michael, Tyrone, Issac, Jr., and Donald.
She was employed at American Can Toy Factory in Elizabeth, Nj where she was a hard dedicated worker. She left this position in 1978, where she then went on to be the best housewife and caregiver to her husband and children.
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Clarice Norman passed away at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth at the age of 89.
She proceeded in death by her late husband Isaac Norman Sr.,brother, Bobby Simpson, and sisters Lillie May Hurling, & Elaine Hayes. Also proceeded by in-laws, Clarence Hurling,Willie Cotton (Mary), Luberta Norman, Lee Norman, Frank Norman, Edna Atkins (Emory), Tempi Brown (George).Daughter in-law, Jackie Gary. Lastly, her special cousin and friends, Patsy Leverrett, Lucille Richardson, and Johnie May Bailey.
Clarice leaves to cherish her memory, brothers; Charles Bailey (Helen), Larry Simpson (South Carolina), Lawrence Simpson (Ollie, South Carolina). Sisters; Bertha Worthy (John, NJ), Mattie Hancock (Larkin), Cathy McKoy (Fletcher, SC), Cheryl Pendergrass (Kenneth, SC), and sister in-law Martha Simpson (Bobby). Four sons, Michael Norman (Gwendolyn), Tyrone Norman, Issac Norman Jr., and Donald Norman (Leslie), all in NJ. Grandchildren, Brittany, Tianna, Shawn, Isaiah, Chris, and Brandon; a host of loving cousins, nephews, nieces, dear relatives and friends.
