Born on July 14, 1954, Camille embraced life with grace and a compassionate spirit that endeared her to all who knew her.
In her professional journey, Camille began her career at Bell Telephone before briefly venturing to Exon (Linden). She eventually found her way back to Bell where she dedicated her time and talents until her well-deserved retirement. Her commitment and work ethic served as an inspiration to all those around her.
Education was also a significant part of Camille's life. She attended the Roselle Public School System and proudly graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 1972. Following high school, she pursued her passion for hairstyling by enrolling in Essie Mae School of Cosmetology in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Becoming a beautician allowed Camille to showcase her creativity and attention to detail while bringing joy to those in her chair.
Camille's vibrant personality shone through in every interaction. Outgoing, friendly, and endlessly considerate, she made it a point to always put others before herself. Her thoughtfulness and caring nature left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
Outside of work and education, Camille found solace and joy in spending time with loved ones. She cherished moments with her sisters, family members, and best friend Linda. These relationships held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable happiness throughout the years.
In the wake of Camille's passing, she is preceded in death by her loving parents: Camille Sumner Mckenize and Henry Roy Mckenize. She is survived by her devoted husband Carlton Hester, two sisters Karen Boyd of TN and Carolann Stansberry of AL, as well as one brother H. Roy McKenzie Jr (Cheryl) of AL. Additionally, Camille leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. As we come together to honor and celebrate the beautiful life Camille lived, may we find comfort in the love she shared so freely with all those around her.
Camille's legacy of kindness and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched.
